  3. NOTE: NewsRoom is a stand alone application *NOT* commands 50/51 APPL
  4.       Launch only from finder! Future versions may support relaunch of RRH

  6. Dear friend make a copy of NewsRoom, then with ResEdit modify the resource STR# “Filenames”. 
  7. You must write in these resources the current pathname for USERLOG and MESSAGES files.

  10.     DRIVE:FOLDER:USERLOG

  12. You can post in message areas text files written with your preferred word processor. Remember to save files as «Text Only».
  13. The very first line of text will become the “subject”, for example the text:

  27. You’ll be warned if your text doesn’t fit the message area or if the subject line is too long.
  28. The program strips all gremlin characters (over Ascii value 129) from text source file and replaces european diacrictical chars (à, è, ì, ò and ù) with two chars (a’, e’, i’, o’, u’).

  30. NewsRoom searches the user name written in «Send to:» field in USERLOG, and properly set “waiting mail” flag.

  32. NewsRoom works very well on TOPS networks, remember to publish destination volume (with Red Ryder Host’s files)  before launching NewsRoom.

  34. Use the program only with System 6.0.X.
